Pure Magic

Words cannot express the beauty of the Magic Tree, an incredible tree here in Columbia, strung with thousands of lights. I saw Will Treelighter's photos of it (his real name is Randy Fletcher) a few weeks ago and have been obsessed with seeing it ever since, especially after I visited his website and found out why he does it.
Here's an excerpt about what he thinks the purpose of the tree is:
The Magic Tree then is a beacon of healing and soothing beauty. It is a call to goodness, drawing out our own innate desire to be the positive changes we want to see in the world. And it is a notice of grace and encouragement to come from that magnificent manifestation of what we together are ready to receive, the Great Encourager, The Teacher, Maitreya.

I think a person can appreciate his goal, no matter what their religious or spiritual beliefs. He does this out of the goodness of his heart just to bring joy to people.

The tree is strung with so many lights, it almost looks hollow, as if there's no tree beneath them. It's hard to describe.

All I know is that I felt like my heart was going to burst as we drove away. What a lovely thing for one person to do. It touched me very deeply.

You can find more of my photos of the tree on my Flickr page.
