Happy Spring

Spring snuck up on me this year!! I wasn't prepared, but maybe I never am! The kids liked the tradition we started last year of planting seeds and playing with pinwheels. My mom sent those things to the kids last year for spring. We planted pumpkin and green bean seeds in small cups this morning and Tea played with my basket of seeds and lined them up. (I really need to get the garden planned!) Then we went to Michaels and bought pinwheels and bunny ears and went to Shelter Garden to try them out. The kids had a blast and the wind was perfect for it. I had to snap a few hundred photos as usual.

This afternoon, we blew eggs and decorated them with crayons and markers and plan to make an Easter Egg tree. I made homemade egg noodles with the eggs and we had chicken noodles for supper. My favorite meal and the kids loved it too. Kai said I'm the best cook in the whole world. Usually he complains about my meals!!

Happy Spring!

Snapped this as we headed out the door yesterday on St. Patty's Day. I love this sweater and hat, made by Jevon's sister. Such a classic look...

Tea's art

Here's a sampling of Tea's art. There's more that I'll add later. I love the little bear and the spider below it. She and Kai have been going through paper like crazy! It's so cute.

Kai's attempt to draw a fairy for Tea as a spring decoration. I think it's interesting that it turned out looking like Pan.

Map of the World, including Africa by Kai

Oh, how I love his phonetic spelling of Africa. It's just how he pronounces it! So sweet!

Is it too much?

Okay, so I redid the header. Is it too much? I was working on making a spring one, but the computer was being slow so I tried it.

Feedback is appreciated. I'll probably put a new one up in a couple of days!

Grandma brought bubbles. Always a big hit!

being a kid is messy! Tea and Kai drew so much over the last few days, they were just covered in markers. Tea's art has taken off. I will take some pictures and post them. She's drawing spiders, bears, the letter "T", fire and more. It's very exciting and it happened so fast!

Here's a pic of Jevon and his sister Tracey. She's so talented: she knits, embroiders, sews, paints, draws, etc! Kai loves her! (we all do!)

Grandma Janice was here briefly and I got this lovely shot of her hands. Aren't they beautiful? I finally gave her the poem I wrote about her last visit here (when I made her the scarf). She loved it!
